My name is Marcel. I’m an independent Macintosh systems administrator who has been working with Apple computers for over 30 years now. I started with personal computing at the age of 14 after the fall of the wall with a Commodore C64 and switched to the Commodore AMIGA by the end of 1991.My first contact with a Mac was in the spring of 1994 on System 7 with a Power Macintosh 6100. During the 90s I was checking out alternative operating systems like BeOS, Solaris/Sun, and IRIX/SGI whenever possible at the university (because at my work in a small publishing company only Mac OS 8 and 9 were used). Happily Apple acquired NeXT in 1996 and made the shrewd decision to use the NeXTSTEP operating system as a foundation to replace the dated classic Mac OS (instead of BeOS or Copland), leading to the development of OS X (and later iOS) and offering a great future for Apple. If you have an IT related problem, I may be able to help! Berlin, March 2024
